Meissen snuff box in the form of a folded letter

Meissen rd. 1750/55. Dimensions: 8.8 x 5.7 x 3.0 cm; form no. 89, no mark; copper-gilt-mount.

Flat snuff box in the form of a folded letter, decorated with an iron-red seal with the portrait of a young girl and the inscription "Devinés au juste et ouvrés"

There are only three comparative boxes known to date:

Private collection, Zurich (Beaucamp-Markowsky no. 119) with the inscription "a la plus fidèle partout ou Elle s’est trouve";
Metropolitan Museum New York, inscription "a Messieurs les Amateurs de tabac genre d’Espagne" (quoted after Beaucamp-Markowsky ibid.);
Coll. Blohm III (Sotheby’s 09.10.1961 No 561), inscription "A Mademoiselle: Mademoiselle deV.E.P. couv:AD.S"
