The figure is part of the Cris de Paris series, which consists of possibly 34 figures created in 1753/54 by Reinicke and Kaendler based on watercolored drawings by Christophe Huet. The dated drawings, which served as the basis for the series, were published in color by Eberle (2001 No. 43). The series, including the drawings, was first almost fully published by Günther Reinheckel in 1992 (Weltkunst No. 9).
