Kaendler's largest crinoline, model from 1750, moulded and decorated soon after; no swords mark (as on almost all examples); 20 cm high; 26.8 cm long.
With this work, Kaendler has created a monument to the greatest opera diva of his time, Faustina Bordoni (1697-1781). It shows her in her role as Attilia in the opera of her husband - the famous court music director and componist Johann Adolph Hasse - "Attilio Regolo", which was premiered in Dresden on 12.1.1750 - with triumphant success.
