Large Meissen plate after Chinese 'famille verte' model

The motif with two birds is after a Chinese "famille verte" original (see Coll Girtanner, Zurich no. 41)

The large Meissen " famille verte" plates are rare:

  • Christie's 31.03.1980 no. 185, Ø 33 cm
  • Christie's Rome 29.05.1980 no. 46, Ø 34 cm

The Chinese model with a diameter of 38 cm can be found in the Girtanner Collection, Zurich (Lepke 09.12.1926 no. 41 plate 24).
