Meissen pair of hexagonal shaped candlesticks with woodcut flowers in the style of Gottfried Klinger
Meissen c. 1740; underglaze blue sword marks; height: 14 cm, Ø foot 9 cm / hexagonally shaped candlesticks on a hexagonal flat base. Very fine painting with polychrome ‘Woodcut Flowers’, gold trim. The model was inspired by a Böttger stoneware candlestick in the royal collection, which Johann Jacob Irminger moulded in the early 1710s after a silver model (Dresden Porcelain Collection, inventory no. PE 1705).
