Meissen model by Kaendler around 1750, with the assistance of Reinicke; form number: 1371; 22,8 cm high; small underglazed blue sword mark
The carpenter belongs to the series of great craftsmen, which probably comprised 16 single figures. The largest series so far (15 pieces) was exhibited by the Antique Porcelain Company in July 1951 (catalogue pp. 88 f.) in London. 12 figures were in the Coll. Gusatav von Klemperer (catalogue 1928, but the carpenter was missing); 10 figures were in the Coll. Budge (1937 No 827)
